General Information

Immerse yourself in 100 year old history, and take a steam rail journey day trip from Cape Town to Ceres. This deciduous fruit growing valley is one of the largest producers in South Africa, and with stunning scenery all around it, it’s well worth the visit in summer or winter. The Ceres Railway track was built between 1910 and 1912, and today the Ceres Rail Company have taken upon themselves to preserve this heritage and give you the discerning traveller the opportunity to relive steam train travel right here in the Cape.
