Whale Watching

General Information

There are many different whale species around the world, and a few of those are prevalent in the waters off the Western Cape all year round, while some are only here during the winter months between June & November. The Southern Right Whale can be seen during those months in many different sites along this two ocean coast, from Saldanah Bay along the Atlantic all the way to Plettenberg Bay on the Indian Ocean. Hermanus being one of the most famous, Walker Bay is a natural whale sanctuary and one of a very few places in the world where one can do land based whale watching from the cliffs while whale watching boats give the guest a closer view of these ocean giants. Weather depending, but almost daily trips.
